automation
Robotic systems, motion control, machine integration and automation strategy for complex engineering programmes.

machinery
Special purpose equipment, production machinery and multidisciplinary engineering for bespoke industrial systems.
products
From concept definition and systems architecture through to technical leadership and commercial delivery.

electrical
Electrical system design, controls architectures, panel design and functional safety for industrial automation.

compliance
Supporting machine compliance, safety related design decisions and engineering governance through development.
Studied across all engineering disciplines during these years including mechanical engineering and embedded software and eventually graduating with a Bachelors degree in electrical & electronic engineering in 2016 from the University of Plymouth.
Spent time perfecting the craft of detailed engineering design work as the sole electrical engineer working for a laboratory automation machine builder in the UK.
Progressed in the same laboratory automation machine builder to senior roles as Electrical & Control Manager and then Engineering Manager. Leading the delivery of customer projects and large teams of multidisciplinary engineers.
I later went on to work for a large pharmaceutical CDMO to drive automation strategy, overseeing the implementation of robotic automation for drug development R&D.
Joined a Cell & Gene Therapy startup spun out of a large engineering consultancy. Was responsible for delivering an Innovate-UK grant funded program involving novel technology for automating the manufacturing gene therapies.
Calling upon over a decade of engineering experience, Orange-Tech was founded to provide organisations access to senior engineering technical capabilities without the overheads of larger engineering and automation consultancies.
